Cajun-Rubbed Steak

At my local farmers market, there’s a guy who sells lamb and beef from his nearby farm. I jumped at the chance to buy local grass-fed and finished beef. This steak was great (of course) and I did a cajun-inspired rub.

For sides, I served a vegan mashed potato and some sauteed onions, kale and broccolini.

1 about-1-pound tri-tip steak

salt and pepper

garlic powder

white pepper

cayenne pepper

chili powder

1. Let your steak sit at room temperature about 20 minutes. Prepare the rub (measure what seems right).

2. Rub the steak in the spices. Let sit if wanted.

3. Pan sear or grill the steak until medium rare. Enjoy with whatever sides you so desire.
